Allegation of Research Misconduct

VISIKES strictly follows the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the handling of allegations of research misconduct.

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication: Making up data or results and recording or reporting them.
  • Falsification: Manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes, or changing/omitting data or results.
  • Plagiarism: Appropriating another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.

If an allegation of misconduct is brought to the attention of the editorial board—either before or after publication—the Editor-in-Chief will initiate a formal investigation. If the allegations are proven, appropriate actions will be taken, ranging from a formal warning to article retraction and notification of the author's affiliated institution.
