Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan solusi penyimpanan data berbasis Set Top Box (STB) dengan sistem operasi Linux Armbian sebagai alternatif yang lebih ekonomis dibandingkan Network Attached Storage (NAS) konvensional. Program Studi Keamanan Sistem Informasi Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis menghadapi tantangan dalam pengelolaan data yang terdesentralisasi dan kurang efisien. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, STB dikonfigurasi sebagai server NAS yang memungkinkan penyimpanan terpusat serta akses jarak jauh melalui integrasi Virtual Private Network (VPN) ZeroTier dan Virtual Private Server (VPS). Metode penelitian mencakup perancangan sistem, implementasi perangkat keras dan lunak, serta pengujian kecepatan transfer data, akses multi-user, dan keamanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa NAS berbasis STB memiliki kecepatan transfer yang cukup baik, mendukung akses multi-user, serta mampu menjaga keamanan data melalui mekanisme kontrol akses dan enkripsi. Selain itu, solusi ini berhasil menekan biaya operasional sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif yang layak bagi institusi pendidikan dan organisasi kecil hingga menengah. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa perangkat keras berbiaya rendah dan perangkat lunak sumber terbuka dapat membangun sistem penyimpanan data yang efisien, efektif, dan skalabel.
