Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Occupational Health, Hygiene and Safety (JOHHS) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and originality of published work.

The review process is conducted as follows:

1. Initial Screening
   Submitted manuscripts are first checked by the editor for compliance with the journal's scope, formatting guidelines, and originality (via Turnitin plagiarism screening, maximum similarity 20%).
2. Reviewer Assignment
   Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a minimum of two independent reviewers with relevant expertise, appointed by the editor. The identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the process (double-blind review).
3. Review Evaluation
   Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, scientific merit, methodology, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope. Reviewers may recommend acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
4. Editorial Decision
   Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor makes a final decision on the manuscript and communicates it to the author, along with reviewer comments where applicable.
5. Revision and Resubmission
   Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript according to reviewer feedback within a specified timeframe. Manuscripts with no progress within three months will be automatically rejected.
6. Final Approval
   Once all revisions are satisfactorily addressed, the manuscript is approved for publication and proceeds to the production stage.
