Abstract
In order to investigate the song's role as a socio-political satire in the Indonesian setting, this study offers a semiotic analysis of the translation of "Mosi Tidak Percaya" by Efek Rumah Kaca. The study analyzes the lyrics to uncover underlying themes of resistance, power, and authority using Newmark's translation methods and Barthes' semiotic theory. Through this approach, the study emphasizes how important it is to take into account both translation techniques and semiotic layers in order to fully understand the complex interactions between language, culture, and sociopolitical commentary in music. In the conclusion, this research confirms "Mosi Tidak Percaya"'s timeless significance as a potent critique of social conflicts and the pursuit of authenticity in the face of authority.
