The model posits direct positive effects from cultural authenticity, destination image, and
local food quality on gastrotourism participation, and outlines measurement approaches combining
perceptual scales and objective quality indicators. Expected contributions include theoretical integration
of previously fragmented antecedents, refined operationalization of gastrotourism outcomes, and
identification of psychological mechanisms (emotional engagement, satisfaction, trust) that mediate
structural influences. Practical implications emphasize coordinated destination management strategies
that preserve culinary authenticity, strengthen culinary branding, and ensure food quality and safety to
maximize sustainable community benefits. This study applies a qualitative interpretative method using
Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory as the analytical approach. The data of this study consist of song lyrics
analyzed through the interpretation of signs and meanings within the lyrics. The results indicate that the
lyrics represent an awareness of the finiteness of life, the limitations of time, and the importance of
appreciating the present moment. Although instapoetry is often regarded as
simplistic because of its conciseness, this study contends that it employs intricate emotive frameworks
through meticulously chosen linguistic elements. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive methodology, the
study examines lexical items and expressions in chosen instapoetry pieces, categorizing them according
to Plutchik’s emotional model. The results indicate that emotional meanings are methodically structured,
with anger constituting the predominant category (32.6%), succeeded by sadness (21.7%) and disgust
(15.2%). In contrast, positive emotions like joy are scarcely represented, and surprise is entirely absent.
These emotional patterns are created by linguistic tools such as repetition, negation, and contrast, which
help make affective meaning stronger and more organized. The study also demonstrates that emotional
categories interact dynamically and provide a clear path from vulnerability to resistance and
empowerment. This research enhances the synthesis of semantic analysis and emotion theory by
illustrating that emotional significance in instapoetry is not only conveyed but also actively generated
through language. It emphasizes the analytical capacity of short-form digital poetry and offers a
framework for investigating emotive meaning within current digital literary environments.
2026-06-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 UNCLLE (Undergraduate Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture) https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/unclle/article/view/16359 An Analysis of the Psychological Needs of Oda Nobunaga in The Legend and Butterfly Using Henry Murray’s Theory 2026-06-07T05:19:05+00:00 Fahraz Ramdhani Saputra 312202201092@mhs.dinus.ac.id Sri Oemiati 312202201092@mhs.dinus.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the psychological needs of Nobunaga in the film The Legend and
Butterfly, directed by Keishi Otomo, using Henry Murray’s personology theory. The research focuses on
identifying the dominant needs reflected in Nobunaga’s actions, dialogues, and character development. The
method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data were collected by repeatedly watching the film,
identifying relevant scenes, and classifying Nobunaga’s behavior based on Murray’s twenty categories of
needs. The findings reveal six dominant needs: achievement, affiliation, defendance, dominance, nurturance,
and rejection. The analysis shows that Nobunaga evolves from an impulsive and arrogant young ruler into a
more controlled and determined leader. His behavior is influenced not only by internal drives but also by
external social pressures such as political conflict and emotional relationships. The interaction between internal
needs and external social pressures forms the foundation of Nobunaga’s personality and decision-making
process. The film is set in Ooku, a hierarchical and closed palace
environment where the chosen women for the emperor gather. Using a stressful social setting, this film
is a source of data that contains many directive speech acts. This study uses a qualitative descriptive
approach. Data collection was carried out using the free listening method and note-taking techniques.
The main data source is the dialogue in the film Mononoke Movie: Karakasa. Data analysis uses
Namatame's directive speech act theory, which includes five types: commands (meirei), requests (irai),
prohibitions (kinshi), permissions (kyoka), and suggestions (teian). The results show that of the five
types, four types of directive speech acts were found, namely commands, prohibitions, requests, and
suggestions, while the form of permission was not found. Directive speech acts in the form of commands
and prohibitions dominate as a reflection of the repressive power structure of Ooku. A qualitative case study involving an in-depth semi-structured interview with the

school principal was conducted. Sociolinguistic frameworks including diglossia, language choice, code-
switching, and translanguaging were applied to evaluate how language policy, cognitive demands, and

social identity shape daily school interactions through thematic analysis. The results revealed three key
dynamics in the school bilingual environment: 1) the establishment of a diglossic pattern where English
operates as the dominant language in formal domains, while Indonesian is maintained for social
solidarity in informal settings; 2) the high cognitive load experienced by learners when dual language
demands trigger mental translation and hinder content comprehension; and 3) the strategic deployment
of code-switching and translanguaging as pedagogical tools, integrated with Montessori frameworks, to
scaffold learning and mitigate these cognitive barriers. These findings demonstrate the complexity of
early bilingual education, suggesting that successful implementation requires flexible pedagogical
strategies that prioritize student conceptual comprehension over rigid monolingual rules. Idiomatic expressions often contain
figurative meanings that cannot be translated literally, posing challenges in audiovisual
translation, particularly subtitling. This study aims to identify the types of idioms that appear
and determine the most frequently used subtitling strategies in translating these idioms into
Indonesian subtitles. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The research data
consists of idiomatic expressions in the dialogue of Friends Season 8 along with their
Indonesian subtitle translations taken from the official HBO Max platform. Data were
collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using Gottlieb's (1992) subtitling
strategy theory and the idiom classifications by Fernando (1996). Based on the findings,
paraphrasing is the most frequently used subtitling strategy, accounting for 66% of the total
data. This is followed by resignation (12%), condensation (8%), transfer (6%), expansion
(5%), and deletion (2%). The results indicate that paraphrase dominates the translation of
idiomatic expressions in Friends Season 8. Paraphrase was the most frequently used
strategy, indicating that translators prioritized equivalence of meaning and audience
understanding over maintaining the idiomatic form of the source language. The dominance
of paraphrase was also influenced by technical limitations in subtitling, such as the space
and time required for subtitles. Overall, this study shows that the translation of idioms in
Friends Season 8 is significantly influenced by the level of idiomatically and the
communicative needs of the audiovisual media. This research is expected to contribute to
the study of audiovisual translation, particularly in the application of subtitling strategies to
idiomatic expressions in television series.
2026-06-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 UNCLLE (Undergraduate Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture) https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/unclle/article/view/16371 QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF GASTRONOMIC TOURISM EXPERIENCE IN SHAPING TOURIST SATISFACTION AND REVISIT INTENTION IN MALIOBORO YOGYAKARTA 2026-06-07T06:39:05+00:00 Agus Arifin apinnnganzz@gmail.com Anugrah Barep Saputra apinnnganzz@gmail.com Arif Dwi Saputra apinnnganzz@gmail.com Fuadi Afif apinnnganzz@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze tourists’ gastronomic tourism experiences in shaping satisfaction
and revisit intention in the Malioboro area of Yogyakarta. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, utilizing
observation, listening, and note-taking techniques on scenes depicting the character’s psychological
events. The unit of analysis is the thema, defined as the interaction between need and press that produces
specific behaviors. The results reveal six dominant needs: nurturance, achievement, autonomy,
affiliation, defendance, and counteraction, while succorance appears only in Hana’s early life.
Environmental press is divided into alpha press (spousal death, economic hardship, adaptation failure,
geographical isolation) and beta press (anxiety, guilt, fear of social stigma). The interaction between
needs and press forms consistent personality dynamics throughout the narrative, with each press
triggering specific needs manifested in adaptive actions. One
concept that can be used to understand this complexity is aimai, which refers to the tendency to express
meaning indirectly, ambiguously, and contextually in both communication and behavior. This study
aims to identify and describe the forms of aimai behavior and to analyze the factors underlying its
occurrence in the character Meiko in Solanin (2010). This research employs a descriptive qualitative
method, with data collected through documentation of the character’s dialogues and behaviors in the
film. The analysis applies an analytical framework that categorizes aimai into four interrelated
dimensions: linguistic, behavioral, emotional, and moral-social. The focus of this study is to examine
how these forms of aimai are manifested in Meiko’s interactions, as well as to explore the factors
influencing their emergence within the context of Japanese social and cultural life. The findings indicate
that aimai functions not only as a linguistic phenomenon but also as a psychosocial and cultural strategy
employed by Meiko to cope with life pressures, maintain social relationships, and navigate tensions
between personal needs and social expectations. Factors such as uncertainty in determining life
direction, social pressure as a young adult, and Japanese cultural values—such as wa, enryo, uchi–soto,
and honne–tatemae—contribute to the emergence of aimai behavior. The transformation of cycling from a
functional activity into an urban lifestyle highlights the importance of experiential and social drivers.
This research employs a quantitative approach using a structured questionnaire administered to 120
active members of cycling communities. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with
SPSS. The findings indicate that hedonic motivation significantly enhances participation intention by
increasing perceived enjoyment and emotional value. Social interaction also significantly influences
participation intention by strengthening interpersonal ties and sense of belonging. The model explains
a substantial proportion of variance in participation intention, confirming that both intrinsic and
extrinsic factors are critical.
2026-06-17T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 UNCLLE (Undergraduate Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture) https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/unclle/article/view/16655 IMPLEMENTASI OF FORECASTING-BASED PURCHASING IN CONTROLING RAW MATERIAL AVAILABILITY IN THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE DEPARTMENT 2026-06-16T09:18:35+00:00 Maria Desiana mariadesiana52@gmail.com Harry Hermawan mariadesiana52@gmail.com Fian Damasdino mariadesiana52@gmail.com Francisca Ratna Ardanari mariadesiana52@gmail.com
This study aims at analyzing the implementation of forecasting-based purchasing in
controlling raw material availability in the Food and Beverage department. Furthermore, this study
also examines how the application of forecasting methods in the raw material procurement process
can improve operational efficiency and minimize the risk of shortages or excess inventory. Poorly
planned raw material management often leads to problems such as stockouts, overstocks, and raw
material waste, which impact operational costs. The study uses a qualitative method by including
observation of the raw material procurement process, interviews with the parties involved in
purchasing activities, and documentation of raw material usage data as a basis for forecasting analysis.
The results of this study indicate that the implementation of forecasting-based purchasing can
facilitate more structured and accurate raw material purchasing planning. By utilizing historical
demand data as a basis for forecasting, the Food and Beverage department can optimize inventory
control, reduce potential losses due to excess or shortages of raw materials, and improve operational
process effectiveness. This study suggests the need to implement a purchasing planning system
integrated with forecasting methods to enable more efficient and sustainable raw material
management. The research problem concerns how hope speech acts are used in film dialogue and how pragmatic contexts influence their meanings, using the pragmatic theories of J. L. Austin, John Searle, and Geoffrey Leech. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with observation and dialogue note-taking techniques. The data source consists of character dialogues from the film Moonlight Shadow 2021, directed by Edmund Yeo. The results show that hope speech acts appear in both direct and indirect forms, with the main function of expressing hopes for happiness, emotional recovery, and future change. Contextual factors such as situation, interpersonal relationships, and the psychological condition of the speaker greatly influence the interpretation of illocutionary meaning. This study concludes that hope speech acts play an important role in conveying emotional messages and narrative meaning in the film.
2026-06-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 UNCLLE (Undergraduate Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture) https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/unclle/article/view/16322 A Conceptual Examination of Digital Technology Adoption as a Mediator Between Digital Leadership and Innovation in Tourism Services 2026-06-02T09:53:51+00:00 Kasma Manggala, kasma.manggala10@gmail.com Antonius Satria Hadi kasma.manggala10@gmail.com Bhenu Artha kasma.manggala10@gmail.com Utami Tunjung Sari kasma.manggala10@gmail.com
This conceptual paper examines the mediating role of digital technology adoption in the relationship between digital leadership and tourism service innovation. Drawing on the Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT) and Resource-Based View (RBV), the paper proposes that digital leaders who possess competencies in technological vision, data-driven decision-making, and change orchestration enhance tourism enterprises' capability to adopt digital technologies, which subsequently drives service innovation. The proposed conceptual model suggests three direct pathways: (1) digital leadership directly influences tourism service innovation, (2) digital leadership facilitates digital technology adoption, and (3) digital technology adoption mediates the relationship between digital leadership and tourism service innovation. Grounded in empirical evidence from tourism and hospitality sectors, this paper contributes to strategic management and tourism innovation literature by providing a theoretical framework that illuminates how leadership competencies translate into tangible innovation outcomes through technological enablement. The study has implications for tourism destination managers, hospitality leaders, and policymakers seeking to enhance their organizations' capacity to deliver innovative services in an increasingly digital marketplace.
2026-06-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 UNCLLE (Undergraduate Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture)
