AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES IN JOURNAL CITRAKARA

General Guidelines
Citrakara publishes scientific articles on topics relevant to the field of chemical engineering, including research results, simulations, and the development of fundamental concepts. Articles submitted for publication in Jurnal Citrakara must be original and not previously published in any other scientific journal. Articles may be written in either Indonesian or English, using proper and correct written language.

Articles must be prepared as manuscripts in MS Word on A4-size paper (210 x 297 mm) with margins of 25 mm (left), 30 mm (top), 20 mm (right), and 20 mm (bottom). The article should be written in a single-column format with a layout that is as simple as possible. Authors are encouraged to use only the writing features available in MS Word (bold, italics, subscript, superscript, equation, etc.) and not to use other features not provided in MS Word (embedded graphic design, embedded symbols, embedded equations, etc.). All text in the manuscript must be written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, with double spacing.

Specific Guidelines
The manuscript begins with the Title, Author Names, Author Addresses, Abstract, and Keywords, followed by the main sections consisting of Introduction, Research Methodology (Model Development), Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, List of Notations (if any), References, and Appendices (Figures and Tables). In the body of the manuscript, figures and tables are not presented together with the text, but are placed in the Appendix section, each accompanied by a figure/table number and caption. The figure number and caption are written below the figure, while the table number and title are written above the table. Please ensure that the quality and size of the figures are sufficiently large to produce good print quality (one page for one figure). Please do not use frames around figures. This will facilitate the editorial team in editing and formatting the article.

  1. Title, Author Names, Author Addresses, Corresponding Author a. The article title should be concise but informative. It is recommended not to use abbreviations or formulas that are not widely known.
    b. The full names of all authors are written below the article title without academic degrees. A superscript letter is placed at the end of each name to identify the author’s address. In addition, the author responsible for correspondence (corresponding author) must be clearly identified.
    c. Author addresses are written below all author names, preceded by the corresponding superscript letter for each author.
    d. The correspondence address is written as a footnote on the page that contains the author names. The address must include a complete and clear postal address, as well as e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number.

  2. Abstract and Keywords a. The abstract must be written concisely, containing the objective, main results, and conclusions to be highlighted. The abstract length is about 150–200 words. The abstract should preferably not contain abbreviations or formulas that are not widely known.
    b. Immediately below the abstract, six (6) selected keywords relevant to the article are written, each separated by a comma (,).
    c. The abstract and keywords must each be written in two languages: Indonesian and English.

  3. Introduction
The Introduction presents the background of the study/article, a brief literature review that explains the state of the art, and the objectives of the study/article.

  4. Research Methodology (Model Development)
This section describes the materials used in the research. The research methods must be explained in sufficient detail to ensure that the results can be repeated or reproduced. If the manuscript presents model development, the proposed model must be described along with an explanation of how the model is evaluated or applied.

  5. Results and Discussion
This section presents the research (or model development) results in a systematic and constructive manner, accompanied by a comprehensive discussion that supports the research objectives and strengthens the conclusions. Although some results may be presented in the form of tables or figures, these tables and figures should not be inserted within the text; instead, they must be placed in the Appendix section. In the text, it is sufficient to refer to the table or figure by its number and/or title.

  6. Conclusion
This section presents the main conclusions of the study briefly and clearly.

  7. List of Notations
The List of Notations is arranged in alphabetical order. Latin (Greek) symbols are listed in order before other alphabetical notations.

  8. References
    a. References in the text
Sources cited in the text must follow these rules:
    • Single author: family name/surname (without initials, unless needed to avoid ambiguity) and year of publication.
    • Two authors: surnames of both authors and year of publication.
    • Three or more authors: surname of the first author followed by “et al.” and the year of publication.
References may be written directly in the text or in parentheses ( ). If there are several references, they are ordered alphabetically and then by year of publication.
Example: “... as reported in previous studies (Allan, 1996a, 1996b, 1999; Allan and Jones, 1995). Kramer et al. (2000) recently stated that ...”

    b. References in the Reference List
The reference list is arranged in alphabetical order by the authors’ surnames and, where necessary, by year. If there are multiple references by the same author in different years, the publication year must be followed by the letters “a”, “b”, “c”, etc.
