TYPES OF SPEECH ACT USED IN THE ANIMATED CARTOON UPIN AND IPIN SEASON 14 (GROWTH HAIR)

Abstract


Pragmatic is a branch of linguistics that deals with what constitutes the structure of language as a means of communication between speakers and listeners, and as the confusion of language signs on "extralingual" things spoken. One of the things studied in pragmatic studies is speech act. There are 3 types of speech actions, namely, the act of speech locutionary, illocutionary, perlocutionary. Locutionary is the act of saying something. Speech is an act of speech that in addition to functioning to inform something, can also be used to do something. Moderate acts of perlocutionary speech is a speech act that often has an influence or effect for the listener. This study aims to find out the types of illocutionary speech act contained in the animated cartoon Upin and Ipin season 14 (Growth Hair). This study used qualitative descriptive methods. The result of this research is the discovery of 4 types of illocutionary speech acts in the animated cartoon children's series Upin and Ipin season 14 “Growth Hair”, namely representative, directive, expressive, and also declaration. The most common type of speech act is representative and the least is declaration.
