Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that causes high mortality rates in various countries. Increased blood pressure puts a heavier workload on the heart in pumping blood and circulating it throughout the body. Therefore, a person with high blood pressure is at high risk of developing serious complications. According to the WHO, most people with hypertension worldwide live in low- and middle-income countries. Although the prevalence of hypertension is greater in older age groups, it does not mean that younger age groups are immune to hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the social determinants of health on the incidence of hypertension in productive age groups. This study used a literature review method. This study concluded that the risk factors for hypertension in productive age are lifestyle factors, which include low physical activity, high sodium consumption, low fiber consumption, smoking, and alcohol consumption; psychosocial factors, which include knowledge, attitude, and stress levels; and host factors, which include age, genetics, nutritional status, and history of comorbidities.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/15255 Evaluation of the Antibacterial Activity and Effectiveness of Ciplukan Leaf Extract (Physalis angulata L.) on the Growth of Salmonella typhi Isolates 2025-12-17T01:40:11+00:00 Nurhilaliyah nurhilaliyah@unimerz.ac.id Ayusti Dirga Dirga nurhilaliyah@unimerz.ac.id Husnul N Khatimah Khatimah nurhilaliyah025@gmail.com Muarifah mafamuarifah12345@gmail.com
This study evaluated the antibacterial activity and effectiveness of ciplukan leaf extract (Physalis angulata L.) against Salmonella typhi, the causative agent of typhoid fever. The experiment was conducted using the disk diffusion method to measure inhibition zones at various extract concentrations. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins, which are associated with antibacterial properties. The extract showed the highest inhibitory effect at 40% concentration (25 mm) and the lowest at 5% concentration (18.67 mm). Paired t-test analysis yielded a significance value of 0.434, indicating no significant difference between the first and second observation days. These findings suggest that the antibacterial activity of ciplukan leaf extract is relatively stable and effective. Therefore, ciplukan leaf extract has potential as a natural antibacterial agent and a candidate for phytopharmaceutical development in the management of typhoid infection.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/14983 Factors Influencing Cesarean Section (CS) Deliveries In Indonesia (DHS Program Analysis) 2025-12-10T04:34:41+00:00 Syifa Sofia Wibowo syfa.sofia.wibowo@dsn.dinus.ac.id Aprianti Aprianti aprianti@dsn.dinus.ac.id Syarifah Aqil Wibowo syfa.sofia.wibowo@dsn.dinus.ac.id Atikah Syadza Fadillah syfa.sofia.wibowo@dsn.dinus.ac.id
There are numerous potential issues that might arise during birth, leading to morbidity and even death for both mothers and fetuses. Indonesia's 2020 Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) was 189 fatalities for every 100,000 live births. Cesarean section (CS) is one maternal care intervention that has a strong correlation with maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. The DHS Program particularly for Indonesia, also known as the SDKI (Indonesian Demographic Health Survey), provided the secondary data used in this study. Data on 17,746 respondents was gathered after controlling for the inclusion and exclusion criteria.frequency tests were utilized for univariate analysis, and Pearson Product Moment tests were used for bivariate analysis. 2,915 mother's had cesarean section deliveries; the majority of these mothers were between the ages of 30 and 34 and came from extremely low-income backgrounds. 2,117 births included prolonged labor and 1,331 were breech presentation. This study aims to evaluate user acceptance of the Sayang Beta Website using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) method. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design of 108 respondents, who were selected through accidental sampling techniques. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that the UTAUT model is able to explain the intention to use the Sayang Beta Website well. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.695 shows that 69.5% of behavioral intention is influenced by the variables of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. Partially, performance expectancy (sig = 0.008), social influence (sig = 0.012), and facilitating conditions (sig = 0.010) had a significant effect on behavioral intention, while effort expectancy had no significant effect (sig = 0.269). This study concludes that the Sayang Beta Website has potential as a digital health literacy media, but it needs further development in terms of language, usage guidelines, visual content variations, and promotional strategies so that its use is more optimal
2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/15950 Knowledge and Breast Self-Examination Practice Among Health and Non-Health University Students 2026-04-06T02:52:30+00:00 M Badzlul Rahmansyah badzlulmbr1094@gmail.com Farhan Aqil Putra Hermawan badzlulmbr1094@gmail.com Nurhidayati Nurhidayati badzlulmbr1094@gmail.com Rizka Vidya Lestari badzlulmbr1094@gmail.com Hanan Afifah badzlulmbr1094@gmail.com
Breast cancer remains the most prevalent malignancy in Mataram City, with many cases diagnosed at advanced stages due to inadequate early screening. This study aims to analyze the relationship between breast cancer knowledge and Breast Self-Examination (BSE/SADARI) practice among health and non-health university students in Mataram. An observational analytic quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach was utilized. Data were collected from 256 female students across multiple universities in Mataram using a validated questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, selected through quota sampling. Data analysis included univariate descriptive statistics, Chi-Square tests, and Independent Sample T-tests. The results revealed that 41.4% of respondents had poor knowledge, while 56.3% demonstrated poor BSE practices. Bivariate analysis showed a statistically significant positive relationship between knowledge levels and BSE practice (), although the correlation strength was relatively weak. Students in the health cluster demonstrated significantly higher scores in both knowledge and practice compared to those in the non-health cluster (). This study concludes that while knowledge serves as a foundational requirement, a prominent "knowledge-practice gap" exists, likely influenced by psychological barriers such as fear and forgetfulness. Future interventions should move beyond disseminating theoretical facts and focus on digital-based technical training and self-efficacy to bridge the gap between awareness and consistent preventive behavior among university students.

2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/15623 Overview and Risk Factors of Hypertension in Students at SMPN 35 Semarang 2026-03-06T07:22:48+00:00 Muhammad Raffa Mulia Nugroho raffamulia29@gmail.com Azhar Tegar Aldina 411202203610@mhs.dinus.ac.id Dwi Natasya Rahma Aulya 411202203610@mhs.dinus.ac.id Rubinem Rubinem 411202203610@mhs.dinus.ac.id Nor Amalia Muthoharoh nor.amalia.muthoharoh@dsn.dinus.ac.id
Hypertension is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease, which has long been associated with adulthood, but in recent years it has been increasingly found in adolescents. This condition is a major concern because hypertension in adolescents is often asymptomatic and has the potential to continue into adulthood. This study aims to describe the incidence of hypertension and its risk factors at SMPN 35 Semarang. This study aims to describe the prevalence of hypertension and its risk factors at SMPN 35 Semarang. The study used a descriptive quantitative method, utilizing secondary data from routine student health screenings obtained from the Semar PKG 79 system and the Sehat Indonesiaku application. Data analysis was performed descriptively and presented in the form of frequency distributions and percentages. The results of the study showed that students with blood pressure above normal, ranging from prehypertension to grade 1 and 2 hypertension, were found in all grade levels. In addition, risk factors that could potentially contribute to increased blood pressure were found, such as low physical activity, the presence of overweight and obesity, and high exposure to cigarette smoke among students. The conclusion of this study indicates that hypertension has emerged since adolescence, thus requiring the strengthening of routine health screening in schools as well as school-based promotive and preventive efforts to prevent noncommunicable diseases from an early age.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/15710 Analysis Of Medical And Health Worker Practice Licenses In Semarang City 2025 2026-03-06T04:46:21+00:00 Alfi Sekar 411202203693@mhs.dinus.ac.id Vilda Ana Veria Setyawati vilda.setyawati@dsn.dinus.ac.id Eka Pratiwi Maharani vilda.setyawati@dsn.dinus.ac.id
A Practice License is a mandatory requirement for medical personnel (doctors and dentists) and health workers (nurses, midwives, pharmaceutical personnel, public health workers, environmental health workers, nutrition workers, biomedical engineering personnel, physical therapy personnel, medical technicians) in carrying out health service practices in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. The demand pattern for PSC-119 services can be influenced by various factors, including weather conditions and community mobility. In Semarang City, no research has described the weekly trends of PSC-119 calls based on case types and their relationship with weather parameters. This study aims to describe the weekly trend patterns of PSC-119 calls based on case types and compare them with weather pattern changes in Semarang City in 2024. This study employed a quantitative-descriptive method with a time-based descriptive analysis approach. Secondary data included PSC-119 calls categorized by case type (transportation, homecare, general emergency, traffic accidents, and non-emergency) and weekly weather data (temperature, humidity, rainfall) from the Central Java Climatology Station for January-December 2024. Descriptive analysis was performed with visualization using weekly trend charts. Total PSC-119 calls in 2024 showed weekly variations with the highest peak in week 8 at 633 calls. Transportation category dominated with 11,825 calls, followed by homecare (4,339 calls). Peak calls occurred during relatively dry weather conditions (rainfall 3.1 mm, temperature 29.6°C, humidity 77.7%). Comparative analysis showed that weather variable changes did not form patterns consistent with weekly call fluctuations. Fluctuations in PSC-119 calls in Semarang City were more influenced by activity patterns and community mobility than by weather variables. Weather acts as an enabling factor that supports increased mobility, rather than as a direct determinant of emergency incidents.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/15755 Evaluation Quality of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Services at Pharmacy X in Semarang 2026-04-06T09:37:10+00:00 Andiswara Pramesti adswarapramesti@gmail.com Wulan Kartika Sari Sari wulankartika06@gmail.com
Satisfaction is a customer response to services that can meet needs and expectations. This study aimed to analyze patterns of accident causes leading to fractures and evaluate the accuracy of external cause coding in medical records at a Type B hospital in Semarang. A quantitative descriptive study was conducted using retrospective observation of 88 inpatient medical record documents for fracture cases in 2022, sampled via the Slovin formula from a population of 757 cases. Data on accident patterns (type, location, activity) and coding accuracy were extracted per ICD-10 guidelines (V01-Y98), with conformity assessed descriptively based on completeness to the fifth character and alignment with clinical chronology. Motorcycle accidents dominated (58.8%), primarily traffic-related driver injuries (72.0%), followed by falls (31.8%); non-traffic incidents frequently occurred at home (74.3%). Fracture coding accuracy reached 69.3%, but external cause coding was critically low at 19.3%, with major discrepancies in accident type (56.3%), location (33.8%), and activity (9.9%). These findings highlight systemic coding deficiencies that distort injury epidemiology data. Enhanced coder training, standardized chronology documentation, and hospital policies for external cause coding are recommended to improve data quality for public health interventions.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 VISIKES https://publikasi.dinus.ac.id/visikes/article/view/15701 Distribution Of Diarrhea Disease In Gunungpati Public Health Center, Semarang City, 2022-2024 2026-03-30T01:09:03+00:00 Salma Bening Naffisa salmanaffisaa@gmail.com Rania Reswanda raniareswanda2914@gmail.com Deva Nur Febriana devanurfebriana61@gmail.com Amelia Taryusri ameliataryusri@gmail.com Fadia Hilmi Aqila fadiahilmiaqila@gmail.com Muhammad Zidan Kautsar zktsar@gmail.com Kismi Mubarokah kismi.mubarokah@dsn.dinus.ac.id Nur Syahidah Rahmawati nursyahidahrahmawati1@gmail.com Destya Sari Widyaningrum destyasari@gmail.com Helmy Grace Profita helmygrace.profita@gmail.com
Diarrhea Still become problem health important communities, especially in developing countries .
