ANALYSIS SPEECH FUNCTION IN THE MAIN CHARACTERS ON FROZEN II MOVIE

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find out the speech function of the dialogue of the main character on the Frozen II movie. The research used descriptive qualitative methods. In this study, in collecting the data, the researchers employepurposives sample. The data are taken from Disney+ Hotstarof the Frozen II Movie. Furthermore, the data are analyzed by using a theory proposed by Gerot and Wignell. The results of the study show that are 101 utterances produced by Anna and Elsa as the main characters including statements, questions, and commands. There are two FTA responses, namely positive and negative. For the positive FTA areacknowlegment, answer, compliance. While the negative FTA are contradiction and disclaimer. The most occurrence found in the form of statement with 45 and question with 26. It happened because in dialogue itself where there is a disconfirmation of the main character. It also affects to generate the ideas/topics for more variations of speech function that can be found in the movie.

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui fungsi bicara pada dialog karakter utama di film Frozen II. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan sampel purposives. Data tersebut diambil dari Disney+ Hotstardari film Frozen II. Kemudian, data tersebut akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori Gerot and Wignell(1994). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat 101 ucapan dari Anna and Elsa sebagai tokohutama termasuk pernyataan, pernyataan, dan perintah. Adapun juga FTA positif dan negatif. Untuk positif FTA adalah pengakuan, jawaban, and kepatuhan. Sedangkan negatif FTA termasuk kontradiksi, sanggahan. Kejadian terbanyak ditemukan dalam bentuk pernyataan dengan jumlah 45 dan pertanyaan dengan 26. Itu terjadi karena dialognya terdapat ada diskonfirmasi karakter utama. Hal ini juga mempengaruhi untuk menghasilkan ide- ide / topik untuk lebih banyak variasi fungsi bicara yang dapat ditemukan dalam film.
