PEMBENTUKAN IDENTITAS DIRI PADA KOMUNITAS LIGHT GALAXY DI SEMARANG

Abstrak
Komunitas merupakan tempat berkumpulnya individu yang mempunyai hobi dan tujuan
yang sama, namun di dalam komunitas ternyata dapat memberikan pengaruh sehingga
dapat membentuk identitas anggota khususnya para remaja karena remaja masih dalam
proses pencarian identitas diri. Fenomena Korean Hallyu sangat berkembang di Indonesia,
membuat para remaja menyukai hal yang berbau K-Pop. Sehingga bermunculan komunitas
K-Pop, salah satunya adalah komunitas dance cover Light Galaxy. Kegiatan komunitas secara
sadar mengubah perilaku anggotanya, karena perilaku seseorang bukan disebabkan oleh
“pembawaan†mereka, karena adanya pengaruh kelompok sehingga membentuk identitas
anggotanya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembentukan
identitas diri yang terjadi pada angota komunitas Light Galaxy. Untuk mengetahui proses
pembentukan identitas yang terjadi peneliti menggunakan teori dari George Herbert Mead
yaitu interaksionisme simbolik dimana terdapat teori proses Self yang dibagi lagi menjadi dua
segi yaitu “I†dan “Meâ€. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode
fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah enam orang anggota Light Galaxy. Teknik
pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan wawancara
mendalam. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa setiap narasumber mengalami
pembentukan identitas diri ketika menjadi bagian di dakan komunitas. Pembentukan identitas
terjadi karena adanya pengaruh hingga peniruan kelompok yang dilakukan oleh narasumber.
Pembentukan yang terjadi diawali pada narasumber dengan adanya proses mind, self dan
society. Sehingga identitas baru yang dimana mereka lebih percaya diri, fashionable, dan
terbuka.

Abstract
Community is a place for individuals who have the same hobbies and goals, but in the community
it can give an impact and change the behavior of their members especially teenagers because
they are still in the process of finding identity. Korean Hallyu that very developed in Indonesia,
making teenagers love things about K-Pop. so that the emerging of K-Pop communities, one
of them is the Light Galaxy cover dance community. The community activities consciously
change the behavior of their members, because a person’s behavior is not caused by their only
“identityâ€, but because of the impact from the group that change their members. Therefore,
this study aims to determine the process of formationing self-identity that happened in the
Light Galaxy community members. To find out the process of identity change that happened in
this study, we are using the theory of George Herbert Mead symbolic of interactionism where
there is Self  process that divided into two aspects, namely “I†and “Meâ€. This study uses a
qualitative approach with phenomenology methods. The subjects in this study are six members
of the Light Galaxy community.The data collection technique used in this study is using in-depth
interviews. The results of this study indicate that each interviewees who are members of the
Light Galaxy community revealed that they were formation when they joined the community. The formation that happen because of the impression and group imitation that carried
out by the interviewees.The first formation that happen from interviewees are the process
of mind, self and society.So that, the identity formation if the members make them more
confident, fashionable, and can manage their money and time better.
